Review Time! Bought me the Usher "Here I Stand" Album on itunes. Ok the title gives me the impression Mr. Usher Raymond is a grown up man now. The Intro is sum classic-type rnb song... reminds me on sum John Legend joints. Ok the next song "Love In This Club" is known already, ok what i say that ... its a nice one fo real ... but that sh$%& jus came out of Apple's Garage Band!! Even when i adore polow da don's productions.. here he didn't worked much on that song! But one thing shoulda be mentioned this album really sounds like sung by a man (father) - grown up! Not exciting, but nice: Ne-Yo worked out sum smooth piano/string ballad wit "His Mistakes" - in general i kinda like it ;-)
James Lackey serves "Lifetime" wit some luscious basses and synths.
I was surprised bout JD's ( Jermain Dupri) "Something Special" ... doesn't sound like a current Jermain Dupri production. The collabo with Jay-Z on "Best Thing" is again a JD production this one sounds more like him. cool songs!
Strings and electric guitar sounds in "Moving Mountain" come harmonious together.
Here, as in the wonderfully oblique "Appetite" the perfect escape from clichés of the genre is tried. "What's your name" also operates with the sample of "Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams" which was also used by Pink.
"Here I Stand" Usher presents a really nice, serious grown-up work.
